Japan Rail Pass

When you plan a trip to Japan, hotel reservation and transportation might be the two biggest headaches.

For those who plan to use Shinkansen (Japan’s super express train), I highly recommend you use Japan Rail Pass.

Japan Rail Pass is a special train ticket especially designed for foreign travelers. There are six major train companies in Japan and their services are connected throughout Japan. You can use almost every Shinkansen, local trains, buses, and even ferries operated by those six companies with this ticket.

They offer 2 types of tickets, Green-Cars(luxury seats) and normal seats. Each type has 3 different versions based on period of validity; 7 days, 14 days, and 21 days. Following is a chart for those tickets and prices.
